• Hello guys

I have a duplicate content issue that I can’t find a way to eliminate.

The Blog page is where all my posts are then I have categories for these posts. I have duplicate content problems because the posts are found under 2 URLs – 1 under Blog the other under Blog/Category Name

I’m unable to use a redirect or rel=canonical attribute as its only one post with the URL being sitename.co.uk/postname

I appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks

  • Hi markh101,

Can you provide your URL, so that I can take a look?

    Hello Richard

Thank you for taking the time out to help

    The website is hailstonetravel.co.uk/blog

Are you getting a notification from Google inside of Google Webmaster Tools?

This article is only accessible at one URL. Even though it appears in full on the Blog page and the Category page, those pages as a whole don’t have the exact same content.

Unless you are getting a notification from Google, I wouldn’t worry about it.

It looks like only the first two articles appear in full on the Blog and Category pages. Another option is to have a developer make some modifications to your theme, so that only a snippet of the article is shown.

Let me know if that helps.

Yes I thought that only having a snippet of the article would solve the problem so I will try that.

Just one more thing. I have Hailstone Travel twice in the title on the search engine listing. I removed %%sitename%% in SEO Yoast’s backend but still receiving the same error. Do I need to delve deep into coding to fix this issue?

From your Dashboard: Navigate to Yoast SEO -> Titles & Metas -> and check ‘Enable force rewrite titles’.
