  • Hi @noam69901,

We’ve seen a similar issue caused by users adding pixel tracking code/events multiple times.

Could you please double-check that you’re not manually adding a Facebook pixel or Pixel event through your site’s header.php or another Pixel extension (Aside from the Facebook for WooCommerce extension)?

Please let me know what you find so I can help further.

Hi, thanks for the help. I only have the plugin I installed. Without adding any code to the site.

    Hi @noam69901

    Thanks for confirming.

But it seems there is a Facebook pixel script manually added to your website. It could have been done through a plugin that modifies the header of your website. And it’s not modified via your theme header.php

Here is a screenshot showing the script being used on your site, below Google Tag Manager script: https://d.pr/i/wvsfYW

Can you please double-check if you use a plugin that modifies your site header?

I only use the facebook for woocommerce plugin:

I have no plugin that adds Facebook code. I use a carpenter tag for other tracking codes.

I installed the pixel using the facebook for woocommerce plugin
And I did not add any additional code to the site.
According to Facebook’s comment, duplication should be eliminated. The pixel performs tracking and also the API performs tracking.

You must implement the solution below to correct the problem.
After fixing the problem in your site code, you can mark it as a resolved issue. This will move it to the ‘Last ID’ section. If the issue is detected again after 3 days, it will return to the ‘Active’ section.
In your server payload, enter a valid action_source value for your Purchase events. To see how a valid action_source parameter should be structured, use the Payload Helper .

    Hi,

As a next step, can. you please install the Facebook Pixel Helper extension.

    1. Visit any page with products, as that it should include the pixel. Once you do that, follow steps 2 and 3 to get the Troubleshooting option:

    https://d.pr/i/qvpikT
    Link to image: https://d.pr/i/qvpikT

Once you click that option, it should have a notice about your pixel and how to resolve the issue.

If that doesn’t help, would you please enable logging in Marketing > Facebook. Then repeat the steps to replicate the issue, and then share the log from WooCommerce > Status > Logs for us to review.

Choose the Facebook log from the dropdown and click the “View” button to display the log. Please note that the log may be in UTC/GMT time, so it may be offset by a few hours.

Instead of pasting the log directly here, first paste it to Pastebin or Gist. Then return to this thread and paste the link to that file here.

If the site has a lot of traffic, the log can grow quickly, so it’s a good idea to turn off the Facebook logging once there is sufficient data within the logs.

    Thanks!

I tried to check on Facebook the errors of the pixel appearing that it says a conversion is being duplicated

@noam69901 Can you please review the troubleshooting steps we provided in ticket id 3775641 for this?

    Hi there @noam69901

In the ticket you’ve mentioned the following:

From what I checked it shoots twice, because I set up a custom conversion with the Facebook plugin, and one shoots with the integration of woocommerce. The question is how do I remove the custom conversion?

Let’s move back, and please do the following steps to remove the custom conversions you created:

    • Go to Events Manager on Facebook
    • Once you’re on the page, please hover your mouse onto the left sidebar and then click Custom Conversions and also select the relevant account/Business Manager where you created Custom Conversions before, you must remember where it was created on which Ads Account under which Business Manager – Sample Screenshot: https://d.pr/i/Klusd3
    • Once an account is selected, a list of Custom Conversions will be shown. And then check which one that you created for the site that you want to delete. Click the arrow down sign next to the custom conversion, a popup will appear, and then click Manage – https://d.pr/i/zDhXYm
    • Proceed deleting the custom conversion on the popup – https://d.pr/i/8cldJQ

If you have more than one Custom Conversion you want to remove, you can do it one by one.

Also, you may want to check your site cache, make sure to delete the cache.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi thank you for the help. I have no custom conversion. I came to the page you told me to come to. But there is no custom conversion there. I enclose a screenshot:
    https://ibb.co/4m4X5pc

I have the same exact issue. Only Facebook for WooCommerce installed (latest version) and using Omnibug I am sure both PageView events are firing from Facebook for WooCommerce.

It looks like a redirect issue caused by URL parameters encoding/decoding. Both PageView events have the same timestamp, one calls with URL encoded values while the second has decoded values.

For me it happens also with PixelYourSite and as far as I understood (and verified) it’s the Facebook Pixel Helper extension itself generating that second call. Probably most traffic on my website is still coming from agency staff using Facebook Pixel Helper.

    Hi @dedotombo and @noam69901,

For me it happens also with PixelYourSite and as far as I understood (and verified) it’s the Facebook Pixel Helper extension itself generating that second call.

This is great catch! This would explain the encoded and decoded URL parameters also.

@noam69901 – Can you confirm is this in line with what you’ve been seeing? Have you or others that work on your site been visiting the site with the Facebook Pixel Helper installed?
