• Can there please be a way to duplicate menu bars? This would be very helpful, so we do not need to recreate menu bars if we want to create a very similar but slightly different menu bar.

    Thank you.

  • You could use the export and import features to copy menu items and content, and the WPS Menu Exporter plugin makes it a bit simpler:

    Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your reply. What I’m looking for is a much simpler way to do this, without using a 3rd party plugin.

    I started a Trac request here: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/53903

I had posted this before I knew about Trac.

If you start building a new site and only add content that you want to reuse later (menu items plus pages, posts, media, etc.), the standard export feature should not require a third-party plugin. You still would need the WordPress Importer plugin—temporarily—to add that content to the next site. And if you import something that does not belong there, you could delete it.

    HI Stephen,

Thank you for your reply, but I would really like to see this as a new feature in WordPress. That is why I started the Trac request. As I stated there, I strongly believe that this should be added as a feature inside of WordPress itself, so we are not forced to do the round-about method you proposed.

The ease of clicking a ‘copy this menu’ or ‘duplicate this menu’ button would be a far superior option.
