Duplicate Meta Descriptions showing up

    Seem to be getting alot of duplicate meta description warnings in Google webmaster tools.

    I am after some help, I am using wordpress with a Atahualpa theme. I had tried WordPress SEO by Yoast on both sites and then reverted back to All in one SEO on just one of my sites to see if it was better. I seems to have reduced the amount by 4 only.

    I have Parent and child categories and it seems thou this is partly the reason for the dupication. Do I remove all my child categories and just have one main parent cats covering all the posts under that large subject. Or do you just forget about the dupicate descriptions.

    Any tips would be most appreciated.

  • This is probably due to pagination – each page of a category will have the same meta description. If the errors bother you, you should block indexing for category / author / tag archives.
