Yes,I have facing this issue without any plugin & default Wp theme (
Twenty Nineteen) and also checked this on “Twenty Sixteen” & “Twenty Seventeen” but still facing same issue.

Do you see this issue:
1. In the quick edit dialog (i.e. when editing meta data about the page directly in the list of pages.)
2. In Page attributes in the “Document” panel, when using the block editor?
3. (If using plugin “Classic Editor”): In the Page attributes meta box?

Sounds like this happens in the Block Editor?

A good workaround might be to install the Classic Editor plugin and try making my changes there. You can actually set the Classic Editor to run as default if you like but also allow the Block Editor to be selectable when you want to use it. That’s how I do this myself but I seldom use the Block Editor though I have increased my use of it recently.

Another thought is to divide up the pages in your menu by creating parent ‘headings’ in the menu and reducing the size of the total list to something a little more manageable by placing individual page links under appropriate submenu entries. I can’t guarantee that will help but I’d try that if I was in your situation.

My own thought is to reduce the number of pages way down by using posts or Custom Post Types for much of that and creating ‘loops’ in pages to present those much like the ‘blog’ pages work with regular posts.

I have done that with Categories to further subdivide posts and create menu entries for them as needed.

My norm here is to keep pages in the menus to under three textual lines in the footer which forces me to tidy up and be creative in the rest of the site.

Could I ask you to install and activate the plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
Once activated, it will add a new option under the “Dashboard” item in the main menu.
Its main page will scan for various possible issues in your server environment. (Don’t bother when it complains about mcrypt and libsodium). Then there’s a tab “Debug information”, which gathers information about the server environment. Could you copy that and paste in this thread? This information can be quite valuable when someone tries to see the same problem on a different system. (If you want, you can redact such things as your domain name.)

It might also be useful to somehow get some more details about the “duplicated pages”. Have they been edited and saved several times? Have they been edited in the block editor and/or in Gutenberg? How many revisions are there of them in the database, etc?

according to the @williamsdb answer, It works for me also.

“I have the same problem but here’s a solution that worked for me.

On the All Pages list find your child page and instead of editing the page choose Quick Edit. When you do this you will see a summary of options you can change and Parent was there for me.

I am using Kalyas Theme with wp v5.1.1. I am using duplicate plugin to copy pages. I’ve experienced this problem, when I want to change parent page, copied pages are not visible in the drop-down list. Then I found the solution by Quick Editing copied pages from ..DOMAINNAME/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page menu.

I ran into the same issue with the parent page not showing everything. Quick edit works with everything. Why set only a 12 item limit? My WP server has a lot of resources available to it. I am on 5.2.2.

@scsiraidguru If you have a problem you need to solve, would you please open a new topic instead of “piggy-backing” this old thread?
There are several reasons for us to request this:
– Even if it seems as if you’ve had exactly the same problem, the underlying root cause may be totally different. It quickly gets very hard to follow the conversation if we trouble-shoot several separate problems in one common thread.
– Any participant in this thread that has checked the box Notify me of follow-up replies via email will get a notification when there’s a new reply in this thread, which may be seen as spammy by them, especially if they currently don’t have time/interest to respond.
– More important: your follow-on question will be seen by much fewer people, since it won’t show up in www.ads-software.com/support/view/all-topics/ nor www.ads-software.com/support/view/no-replies/ where volunteers with available time and energy “fish” for suitable topics.
– Did you notice that you actually ask a different question? Why set only a 12 item limit? without clarifying what you mean.
