Duplicate ‘New Order’ emails being sent to customer

Im using a ‘Subscriptions For WooCommerce’ plug-in and for every recurring subscription order the customer is being sent duplicate emails saying their order has been received, even though the order is for one in woo commerce. This only happens with recurring subscription orders, nothing else.
The problem is that customers will think payment has been taken twice due to the duplicate emails.
After doing a Google search people are saying this is a common bug in Woo Commerce. I contacted the Plugin creators and they said they cant find a problem.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? If so, how did you resolve it
