Hello, I have created a course called AAAAAA, and everything works perfectly. However, if I clone or duplicate it—because I want a course called BBBBB, which has many similar elements—I find that any change I make, for example, to Lesson 1 of course AAAAAA, automatically applies the same content to Lesson 1 of course BBBBB.

And vice versa: if I change the content (text, video, or anything else) in Lesson 2 of course BBBBB, it updates the same information in Lesson 2 of course AAAAAA.

What could be causing this? I checked slugs, etc., but I can’t find a way to create independent courses where each has its own content. This issue only happens with lessons; the rest of the content correctly maintains its differences.

    Thanks!

    Hello!

Thanks for contacting us and I’m sorry that you are experiencing an issue when duplicating Courses with Lessons.

I tried replicating the issue you are experiencing on my test site and I’m not experiencing the issues you are bumping into. Would you mind sharing more information about your site?

For example, could you please share the following information:

    • Name of the browser you are using.
    • Name of the theme you are currently using on your site.
    • Are both Courses (AAAAAA and BBBBB) in draft mode or publish mode?

Please share any other information that could be beneficial for testing purposes.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Google Browser

    Yes, the site is published.
    Topic name Sonaar
Yes, the AAAA and BBBB courses are published.

I tried it with another theme and the same thing happened to me. I tried it by removing plugins and just leaving woocoommerce and LMS and it was happening. I could not solve it and in the end I created the lessons manually in the lessons section, and I associated the course ID and I have been able to solve it, but believe me it was impossible to do this in two different sites (I have a website that I test and then the public website) and in both cases, it did not let me duplicate the course, and that each lesson was independent, because I made changes in a lesson and it was multiplied in all the courses that I had cloned.

As I said I solved it manually, but the concept of duplicating lessons does not work, because it duplicates yes, but then any change is propagated in all lessons.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Hi @itzelweb,

Would you share exactly how you ‘cloned’ the lessons and courses?

Did you use Sensei’s “Duplicate a Course” feature? https://senseilms.com/documentation/courses/#duplicate

Sensei allows you to duplicate the course with lessons. Here’s how:

    1. Go to?Courses?> All Courses.
    2. Hover over a course.
    3. Click Duplicate (with lessons) to duplicate it and all its lessons.

You can also duplicate lessons independently:

    1. Go to?Lessons?> All Lessons.
    2. Hover over a lesson.
    3. Click the Duplicate link.
    4. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    I hope that helps!

Yes, that’s right, I did it with sensei’s duplicate function.

But well, as I told you it is already done manually. So I don’t need a solution anymore. If you do not have problems, then maybe it is some conflict that I have, although as I said, I tried it on two different wp installations, different themes, etc..

    Thanks for your attention

    Hi @itzelweb

Thanks for letting us know that you were able to solve it. I know that it was not the ideal solution but I’m glad you are no longer experiencing this issue.

    Have a great day!
