First off I would like to thank you for developing this plugin. It has saved me countless hours over the last 5 or so years as many of the 3000+ pages and posts on my site are quite similar to others on the site.

I have been experiencing a problem over the last week or 2 that is making the user experience a little less pleasant. When I duplicate both pages and posts it creates 2 copies every time I click the link.

I am not sure what information you need to look into this problem but let me know and I will be happy to provide it.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that the plugin has been saving you time over the years.

Regarding the issue you’re experiencing with duplicating pages and posts, we’ve tested it on our end and found that it’s working as expected. It’s important to only click on the “Duplicate This” button once, as clicking multiple times will create multiple duplicates. For example, if you click the “Duplicate This” button five times, it will create five copies.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need further assistance. We’re happy to help!

    Best regards,
    Duplicate Page Support

We’re definitely experiencing 2 duplicates each time we duplicate. Perhaps it’s related to redis cache?

Most definitely not clicking twice and it double duplicates every time.

I am experiencing the issue as well

I’ve got the same issue, and I’m not clicking twice either. Please fix!

I have this same issue on our production site that uses cloudflare. Clicking on “duplicate this” one time creates two drafts, in posts, pages, and custom post types. The issue does not exist on our staging site that is identical except for using cloudflare.

UPDATE: The problem goes away when we disable the plugin All-in-One WP Migration.

@avalynnc interesting. I don’t have that plugin on my site, but I still have this issue. So I’m guessing some part of the Duplicate Page plugin can cause conflicts with some other plugins, for some reason. I’ll try disabling my plugins one by one and see what I can find.

    Hello,

After thoroughly reviewing the code, we have not identified any bugs. We’ve also compared the duplication process, and it works consistently as expected, similar to other plugins.

However, if the duplication request is sent to the server multiple times, it could result in the creation of more than one copy. This could be caused by a plugin conflict.

Guido, could you please provide an update if you have found any conflicts with other plugins?
We have tested our plugin with WP All-in-One Migration and found no conflicts.

For anyone else facing this issue, we kindly ask you to help us investigate further by disabling your other plugins one by one and re-enabling them to identify which plugin might be causing the conflict.

I believe that it was yesterday that the issue appears to have disappeared. I changed nothing on the site and it was definitely not a duplicate click. At least for now the issue appears to be resolved.

I haven’t tested yet but Cloudflare has been activating Speedbrain beta option in its cache for free accounts (Guinea pigs?). Its caused some very quirky things to happen in backend. It’s possible it was causing this problem also and it’s possible the fix they released 2 days ago fixed it. Fyi – even if it was activated it wasn’t always applying its black magic so problems appeared intermittent on some sites.

I also didn’t change anything, and the duplication error appears to be fixed. I do use Cloudflare, so it could have been that.
