    Hello,
Duplicate Post works well when duplicating a post created with the Tribe plugin The Events Calendar.
A recent Tribe plugin, Virtual Events, working with The Events Calendar, makes it possible to create virtual events and assign Zoom links to events created with The Events Calendar.
However, after duplicating a virtual event it is not possible to publish it. I get this error: “Publication échouée. La réponse n’est pas une réponse JSON valide. VM246:1 POST https://hautlescours.fr/wp-json/wp/v2/tribe_events/73636?_locale=user 503”
It is as if the post meta data pertaining to virtual events caused a problem when duplicating then trying to publish.
    Thanks,
    Nicolas

  • Hi @palomar83,

We can see there might be some kind of conflict happening with the Virtual Events plugin. In reviewing the error message provided to us, it shows that Tribe Events is where the error is coming from, as opposed to Duplicate Post.

While you may need to reach out to Tribe Events, we would like to gather some more information.

    1. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    2. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.7? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?

    3. Are you using Duplicate Post v4.1.2?

    4. If you go to Settings-Duplicate Post has it been set-up correctly? Are the right boxes selected?

If the plugin is set-up correctly and all are updated, we ask that you please Check for conflicts. Install the Healthcheck plugin and enable troubleshooting.

    1. Activate the require plugins like Duplicate Post and the Tribe Events ones. 2. Then switch to a standard theme like 2020.
    3. Try to duplicate a post. Does the issue resolve? NOTE: This will not affect how users see your site.

    Hello,
Thanks for you answer. I am pretty sure that Duplicate Post works well and that the issue is more with Tribe events which are complex posts with tickets and various meta data (organizer, virtual event staus…) I will see what people at Tribe think.
    Best,
    Nicolas

    Hi @palomar83,

Thanks for letting us know. We’ll keep this open for the next week at least.

    Thanks Priscilla,

Here is the answer I got from Tribe:

Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the Events post type, they cannot be duplicated.
    I’m sorry I don’t have better news,

But I find that Yoast Duplicate Post is still useful when duplicating unticketed non virtual events so I will continue to use it, hoping future updates keep it that way.

    Best,

    Nicolas
