Duplicate Posts

  • Hi All,

    I’m looking for a plugin that would, on a schedule, check for duplicate posts within a wp install. If it finds any, by comparing title and content, unpublishes the most recent, and then sends an email to the moderator about the problem. It could also do the check just before publishing a new post (either created on the spot or scheduled for future release), and hold the possible duplicate for moderation.

    Does something like this currently exist, or is it possible?

    Anyone have any idea how to combat this problem? I’m thinking of some sort of algorithm that would create a “checksum” on the title and content to make sure that there are no two articles that are identical.

    How are you getting duplicate posts? I’d look into preventing this problem instead of trying to clean it up afterwards.

    Some of my sites are getting a little bigger and I do put plr articles into some of my domains. So, I do make replicates at times.
