    Hi,

Is it possible to use this plugin to duplicate a taxonomy term? (Not the taxonomy itself.)

On the Yoast Duplicate Post settings page, the custom taxonomy is listed. But there is no option to clone a term from the taxonomy when I view the list of terms.

Example: we have a custom post type of Show. We have a custom taxonomy of Season. Under:
Shows > Seasons there is a list of Seasons (taxonomy terms). We want to be able to duplicate one of those Seasons, in order to create a new Season which shares many custom field values with the previous Season.

Can we do this with the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin?

If not… any suggestions about how to go about this?

    Hi @hommealone

Duplicating taxonomy terms is unavailable in Yoast Duplicate post plugin at this moment.

Thanks for suggesting a new feature for our plugin! Please submit feature requests to our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO. You will need an account to create a new issue for your feature request. Please provide as much information about the issue, including the URL to this conversation.

You will require customization to duplicate taxonomy term. We also have a developer portal with more information about filters and many examples of how to implement them.

Thank you for your reply. I have submitted a Feature Request as you suggested.

As far as customizing the plugin to make duplicating Taxonomy Terms possible, I am afraid that might be a bit above of my skill level. Looking at the documentation you pointed to, I’m not finding anything specific enough to get me started. I’d need at least some suggestions about how to get started on that. Perhaps an example of how someone has already done something similar?

    Hi @hommealone

Kindly know that it goes a bit beyond the extensibility allowed by our hooks.

You can probably try to follow the pattern used by the function?duplicate_post_create_duplicate??in admin-functions.php
