• I have a sub-domain multisite install that will allow me to add a category called “Brooklyn” and then also allow me to add a tag called “Brooklyn” …. it will NOT append the second term that is created to “brooklyn-2” …. both will use the identical slug of “brooklyn”. This occurs regardless of whether I create the tag or category first.

This means that when I change the slug of the category, the slug for the tag will also change and vice versa. Is this expected behavior?

Anyone have any feedback on why WP is allowing the creation of duplicate term slugs? I would expect WP to automatically append any duplicate terms with a -2 but this only happens if I create a category and then create a duplicate category right after that … If I create a duplicate tag, the slug is not appended with -2 ….

I have turned all plugins and gone to 2012 to no avail ….

    Any feedback is appreciated!
