• This ‘duplicate titles’ problem is particular so I think it’s ok to post here-

A performance tool my boss has me using says the #1 problem for our site is duplicate titles, across 135 web pages. But these are all login pages– they all are the same looking/functioning, only each is for logging in to comment on a specific blog post. Whenever a blog post is created, a different URL to the same looking login screen shows up. But they keep the same exact title, for each of these login pages that are automatically generated. So WordPress (and/or my theme? Genesis Framework – ‘Centric’ theme) is automatically driving down the performance of this site I’m working on by coming up with duplicate titles.

How do I resolve this? Can I make each login page have a unique login URL? Or have the title of the blog post automatically show up in the title of each of these login pages? Again, there’s a login page for each blog post, at a different URL.

  • It sounds like a plugin might be causing those duplicate login pages to be created. I can verify that WordPress, Genesis and Centric don’t create duplicate login pages.

Try deactivating all of your plugins and create a new post and check if hat behaviour still happens.
