With Duplicator, can I copy my existing live blog site without the content(articles/images)? I dont see this called out as a feature.

I have a regional/town blog with hundreds of posts and I want to expand… so from the existing site create a “blank” template that I just need to update logos and simple metadata.

  • Hey @skyzlmt,

We currently don’t have an option to flag out those items explicitly, however, we do have file and table filters which allow you to filter out individual directories/files and tables.

    Hope that helps~

Cory – Thanks. The filtering option seems viable.
I also may be overthinking this. realizing now if I copy my existing site to new installation (with articles/images) and do the one-time effort of bulk deleting all posts (manually or another plugin) I’ll have the blank starting site that I am looking for (and create a template with that).

That being said, it wouldnt be a bad feature for you guys to add in down the road.

    Hey @skyzlmt,

The pro version has templates which allow you to save the filters to profiles and then re-use them however you want during a build. We have thought about adding an option that would create only the database table but none of its data. Is that something you would find beneficial?

    Thanks

@corylamleorg I’ll probably go the hack and slash route first just for time (I ended up with a surprised day off Wednesday), which will probably be your product to copy and then the “slashing” of manually deleting the posts.

That being said, I could see it be a useful service for others down the road. Some of the WP templates are so customizable (a good thing) that once it gets configured its “I just want to do that again for new site”)

    OK, thanks for the feedback!
