  • I’m having the same issue at the moment.

    Multiple pages and the canonical url is on every page the same, which is the first page.

    same here,

    the full Yoast code is duplicated 2 times on every page and post.

    This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v5.4 - https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ -->
    <!-- Admin only notice: this page doesn't show a meta description because it doesn't have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the SEO -> Titles menu and set up a template. -->
    <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.seodevs.com/" />
    <script type='application/ld+json'>{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org","@type":"WebSite","@id":"#website","url":"https:\/\/www.seodevs.com\/","name":"Seo Devs | Seo Specialist | WhiteHat SEO Tutorials","potentialAction":{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https:\/\/www.seodevs.com\/?s={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}}</script>
    <!-- / Yoast SEO plugin. -->

    then again on line 99

    both exactly the same code. using the latest wordpress along with the latest yoast. I have uninstalled all plugins to make sure there was no conflict. seems there is an issue with Yoast.

    @algeriedeals To fix duplicate meta tags, we’d recommend adding the page number to the meta description as this KB article explains: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-fix-duplicate-meta-tags/#subpages

    @wendihihihi and @maltonge You seem to have encountered different issues, can you please open a new request? That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

    Hello,

    I added a page number but I am still getting the same error message.
    Here is the settings:

    Ad Categories (ad_cat)
    Title template: %%term_title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%
    Meta description template: %%ad_cat_description%%% %%page%%

    I am using custom posts with custom categories.

    Thank you
