    Hello,

I recently had a chat with a Facebook pixel expert and they said that they could see double the number of orders and purchases for the past month than I did. They insisted that there is an error on our end and how the meta tools are set up.

Using the conversion API of Facebook and with only your plugin I track events on woocommerce. As I use wp-rocket for caching, I have excluded from any JS delay and minification these keywords: pys and PixelYourSite. Also as it was creating a problem with the page, I also excluded the window.pysWooProductData. Let me know if I need to exclude anything more.

Can you inform me why the Facebook pixel says that they see double the orders than me, and how I can see if this is a problem on my end or their end?

    Best Regards

Still seems a little odd for the same order to be counted as 2 different events just because of the source. On the end of the day If someone does not have access to the actual purchase orders he will see double the number.

Is there any option that I am missing, that would make the purchase events as 1? Or this happens only if disable the CAPI?

Hi, were you able to solve this? I am facing the same issue, if we receive 5 orders on our website, on ads manager it is showing as 10. For every purchase, there are two events. I am in dilemma what to do, this issue is started just 3 days ago with the new update.

Do you see 2 purchases when placing an order? Use Pixel Helper Chrome extension to check them.

Do you have Automatic Events turned ON inside your Meta Events Manager?

I can create one more thread if needed. The issue here is when I initiate placing order by clicking on place order, a purchase event is fired even before I complete my payment.

I just click on place order, and the payment gateway page loads and purchase pixel is worked, even before I complete my payment. Kindly check here– https://i.imgur.com/wl2fDTZ.png

If I cancel my payment here, purchase is already fired but no order has come to us.

If I will complete the payment, purchase pixel will fire again. (which becomes 2 times)

We exactly have 5 orders today and on ad manager, it shows 10 purchases.

We are facing this issue after the recent update of the plugin.

Automatic events is OFF. Event setup tool has nothing. I have also read this– https://www.pixelyoursite.com/facebook-overreporting-purchases-fix

This sounds like the issue I mentioned: Meta Events Manager Automatic Events are turned ON, or they have a bug. They had it in the past.

I assume this extra event doesn’t have any of our default parameters. You can easily compare it to the events that we actually fire.

    Hi, kindly check this snapshot.

There are two kinds of events —

    1. Track events automatically without code which was off.
    2. Automatic advanced matching- This was on which I have turned off.

So, now both are off. Will this fix the issue?

Automatic advanced matching-?This was on which I have turned off.

    No, that’s not related.

Send me a screenshot with the extra purchase event where I can see its parameters. The one that fires in the wrong place.

Do you want me to turn on automatic advanced matching?

It’s up to you, and it’s not related to this issue.

Thanks for the quick replies, really appreciate it.

Here’s the snapshot where the purchase is fired when I am sitting at the payment gateway.

Strangely, this has only started 3-4 days back. Here is the link — https://coolvibe.in/product/personalized-pet-face-unisex-t-shirt-with-pet-name-customized-dog-name-t-shirt/

Not our event. Meta had a bug in the past resulting in something similar to what you describe. Maybe they have it again, for some reason.

Another possibility is that the event is fired by something else, like Events Manager Event Setup Tool, GTM, another plugin, or custom code.

Sorry for not responding or giving an answer earlier. I did not want to interfere and make things more complicated.

In my case, it seems that Inside the Events Diagrams and statistics, the events appear correctly. Still, for some reason, Meta seems to count 2 different events that happen simultaneously, one is Browser and the other is the Server event. I have also tested the deduplication event and it was working as expected.

After consulting @pixelyoursite everything seemed to work as expected on my end, but also on Meta’s end. I still do not know why Meta wants to count this as 2 events. I also contacted Meta and they told me that I use a third-party integration and that they could not assist.

If anything comes up I will let you know also.

Please update the plugin, version 9.3.8 has and issue with purchase fixed. I am not sure it’s the problem that you have, that might be related to a Meta bug, but it’s worth a trial.

    Hi,

I have the same problem. Facebook only duplicates the purchase event. The event is sent both on the browser side and on the server side, like the other events, but only in this case it doesn’t deduplicate the event. How can I fix?

The event name and the event id are the same.

    Make sure that:

    1. Automatic events without code in the Events Manager is OFF.
    2. Make sure you don’t send purchase events by any other means, like manual code, extra events configured inside the plugin, GTM, etc.
