    Hello,

I recently had a chat with a Facebook pixel expert and they said that they could see double the number of orders and purchases for the past month than I did. They insisted that there is an error on our end and how the meta tools are set up.

Using the conversion API of Facebook and with only your plugin I track events on woocommerce. As I use wp-rocket for caching, I have excluded from any JS delay and minification these keywords: pys and PixelYourSite. Also as it was creating a problem with the page, I also excluded the window.pysWooProductData. Let me know if I need to exclude anything more.

Can you inform me why the Facebook pixel says that they see double the orders than me, and how I can see if this is a problem on my end or their end?

    Best Regards

  • Is it possibile that this is a Meta bug?

@pixelyoursite Thank you! Is it possibile that this is a Meta bug?

    Hi there! @pixelyoursite

We are encountering the same issue. FB purchase events are firing twice or even triple if the user revisits /order-received pages.

Can you please try to change your plugin settings, for example there can be added some check do not fire the event if the user revisits that page.

It is breaking all marketing efforts.

    Thank you

I think this could be achieved with check on the URL. for example order-received/194052 contains a unique order number. If the specific event is to be fired again but the number is the same, then exit.

The logic might seam simple but I guess there are other problems or things that complecate this logic.

I haven’t followed up since then, as I do not have any negative feedback from the marketeers that was on this. But it seems it might still be a problem.

    Hi @stevendigital

Do you have this option ‘Fire the event..’ enabled in your plugin settings?

@mitrodol . As I have the free version of the plugin, I do not have this feature enabled. But a question came up that will be addressed to pixel. But as I can see from the information box on the left, this might address your issue.

@pixelyoursite Does this option affect or create any bugs with duplicated IDs that might still appear as Unique IDs? Also why a functionality that might create problems and give false statistics is a pro feature? Asking to see if there are any scenarios that firing and resending a transaction as data is needed.

    hi @stevendigital

yes, that is the reason for our issue. We’ll think after the answer of the plugin author what to do.

Seems it’s better and cheaper to implement meta pixel events manually in GTM on our own as we are not using CAPI.
