We have many duplicates of our products in the Facebook shop, some with incorrect information (no tax, wrong ID). Have tried resynching and clearing cash, same problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry that the plugin is giving you a bit of trouble. Happy to help you with this!

It sounds like you may have had your products sync twice, with different product IDs each time. This would cause some of your products to exist in your Facebook catalog without being linked to a WooCommerce product. Without that connection, the products would not be able to be updated or removed automatically.

Would you please remove one of the products that you are seeing double (both instances) and then re-save that product in your WooCommerce store to force a resync? If both reappear, please let me know. If only one does, then you’ll know it is the one connected to your WooCommerce store and will need to do the same with the rest of your products.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

I have already deleted them, and they reappeared.

The ids have a totally wrong format, this is how they look:

    Normal product ID:6910400024_1987
    Duplicated product ID: product_default_group2802928549993605https://www.bluewatergroup.com/sv/produkt/flaska-i-rostfritt-stal-bla/#product

I have deleted the products, debugged all the products with Facebook debugger (cleared cache), then resynched, same thing.

    Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thank you for the update. It certainly is strange that the product is being added twice after removing them.

You said that you had switched on the “debug logging” in your site, correct? This would be the checkbox under WooCommerce > Facebook.

If so, would you please share the latest logs for Facebook for WooCommerce here so I can see if the products are listed more than once? You can use a site like Snippi.com to paste the logs and include a link here.

If not, would you please enable that setting, remove the products from Facebook again, and resync to populate the logs?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

So here is what I did with all the products: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
This is where the option “Ask Facebook to update its cache” takes you.

I will now switch to debugging mode, remove products and resync.

    Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thank you for keeping me updated here. Please let me know if you are able to share the latest Facebook logs from your site. They’ll be located in WooCommerce > Status > Logs and then you’ll need to switch to viewing the latest ones for Facebook for WooCommerce.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

Today’s log is strangely empty but here are yesterday’s logs:
    Here’s the snippet: https://snippi.com/s/ym2xclw
(fatal errors only, normal fb for woocommerce log is too long for snippy)
    Expires in 1 day

Regarding the products, 4 of them reappeared.

    Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thank you for sharing the fatal error logs and keeping me updated on the issue. Though the fatal errors are likely not related to this, they could be causing another issue – if not now, in the near future. To prevent this, I might recommend reaching out to your host to see if they can increase your site’s memory limit to at least 512mb.

For the logs and reappearing products, I’m afraid I will need to be able to see the Facebook for WooCommerce logs to see what information is being shared with Facebook.

Can I get you to please delete the latest Facebook for WooCommerce log in your site, force another re-sync, and then try to copy the logs into Snippi? That should narrow it down to just the logs for this one action.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thank you for sharing this! That’s what I was looking for ??

Would you please let me know which product(s) you saved here, if they’re showing up multiple times in your Facebook catalog, and the name of one so I can search for it in the logs?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

I just resynched all of the with Facebook > Product Sync

    Example of duplicated product:
Ocean Blue 500 ml | Bluewater Sverige
    Item group ID
    product_default_group2802928549993605https://www.bluewatergroup.com/sv/produkt/ocean-blue-500-ml/#product

    Normal version of the product
    Ocean Blue 500 ml
    Item group ID
    6910500015_12452

    Hi @asiayeswecan,

Thank you for letting me know. I’m afraid that the Snippi log has been removed and I am not able to see it any more. Would you please do the following so I can take a closer look here:

    1. Delete the latest Facebook for WooCommerce log (at WooCommerce > Status > Logs)
    2. Delete all instances of the Ocean Blue 500ml product from your Facebook catalog
    3. Re-save the product in you WooCommerce store (forcing a resync of the product)
    4. Copy the new log from WooCommerce > Status > Logs and paste into a Snippi snippet again

Would you please give that a try and let me know if the product shows up again twice this time as well?

    Thanks,
    Marcus
