There is a serious glitch when you write large articles and often edit them. For example, when you insert images, change their percentage, sometimes there are duplicate blocks in a published article or in a preview. In the editor there are no duplicates. We have to open the classic editor and re-save the post in it, only then the duplicates disappear.

  • Hi @nalitana,

Can you send the exact steps you are working through when the duplicate blocks appear?

Also, it would be great if you could send a link to one of the posts where this is happening so I can see how large the articles are and which blocks they contain.

Hello! Thanks for answering. I can not show you, because I created an article in WordPress installed on Xampp. But this problem has arisen already twice, in different articles. The first time was like this: after the last WP update and the Gutenberg installation, I converted the existing article to blocks, everything went well, I edited and added content several times, and watched it several times with preview. Then I changed the size of one of the images, first setting 50%, then changing to 75%. The next step was to move one of the blocks near the same image to a higher position. When I opened the preview there were two repetitive paragraphs and two repetitive images. I thought that there were superfluous blocks, but in the editor everything was fine. I deleted the image, because I thought the reason was in it, but it did not change the situation. I again saved the article and opened it in a classic editor, I thought there would be some kind of mistake, but everything was fine there, I kept the article in the classic editor and in the preview the duplicated content disappeared. But when I opened it again in the editor Gutenberg, the situation repeated with the same blocks, no matter how I would not change them. Then I deleted the entire article, having previously saved everything in the document. I created a new article, with the same URL, started to insert the blocks and everything repeated exactly the same as it was. As if something was not preserved as it should be and now this error was fixed on the site. I even updated the WordPress again, optimized the database, but it did not help. Then I postponed this article for a while and wrote in support.

The article does not change in any way. I already think again to delete it and images, write under another URL and change the names of the pictures.

In the other article, I experimented with images. First I added them to the ‘Gallery’ block with two columns, then deleted this block and inserted these images as separate blocks, I did not like it and I decided to return the gallery. When I opened the front view, I had these images displayed as a gallery, but below this block
there was a double of one of the images outside the gallery. In the editor everything looked normal. Well that I did not save the article, I deleted the entire gallery, only then it was saved and added the images again. It was in this article that the duplicates disappeared.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delayed followup here.

If this is still occurring for you in Gutenberg 3.9.0, could you perhaps share the content of a post where you have duplicate content that does not show in the editor?
The best way to do this is to his the ellipsis in the very top right (the three dots) and picking Code Editor, this will show you the underlying blocks etc and will let us see what might be going on with the content it self.
