I need a hint. I use Local by FlyWheel for local development on PC.

I followed the documentation step by step to install the archive to my local site. However, on step 2 (Settings) of the Installer, for Database Host I typed localhost, which was unsuccessful.

Then I saw this line in the documentation:

“In case you are duplicating to local host on your PC, please read the documentation of that particular type of local host installation you are running on your PC to know where to get the Database details.”

I couldn’t find any additional documentation and still don’t know what I am supposed to do here. Give me a hint please ??

    Hi @franc00s ,

Thanks for using FastDup, may I know what local host installation server you are using, please?

    Kind regards,

This particular problem solved. But install failed nevertheless and destroyed my WordPress installation.

For anyone using Local by FlyWheel who encounters the same problem, when Adminer creates the database it’s not possible to add users to it directly. So you need to create the user first, then add privileges to the user for that database.

As I mentioned, this allowed me to run the installer, which then failed after having destroyed the entire site.

    Hi @franc00s ,

YES, normally, you are to create a new database and new user for the database, as per the instructions in the documentation here:

    https://ninjateam.gitbook.io/fastdup/how-the-plugin-works

Also, you need to bear in mind that the duplication process will erase any database item found on the new site (this is the normal way).

However, if you have any other issue contrary to the normal functions, please let us know, we are glad to help!

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    -Bruce-

if you have any other issue contrary to the normal functions…

The duplication process erased any existing database item as expected, but failed to complete the installation as well.

The result is the cloned copy unsuccessful, and my working website destroyed, so I’m left with nothing at the end of the day.
