Duplicator deploy error when trying to install existing website locally w/ MAMP

  • I’m trying to install an existing client site locally with MAMP. I installed the Duplicator plugin, downloaded the files, and then added them to the folder in the MAMP root and created a new database in PHPMyAdmin.

    When I went to my local server https://localhost:8888, selected the folder where I saved the website package, then clicked the installer.php file, I expected the website to deploy.

    Instead of deploying, I get this error: “The archive file size is currently 896B and its estimated file size should be around 42.28MB. The archive file may not have been fully downloaded to the server. If so please wait for the file to completely download and then refresh this page.”

    The website definitely finished loading. Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
