    Strange one!!! https://donnybrookhall.com/

Upgraded a site to wordpress and used duplicator to migrate from local to replace old site on domain. Set up redirects, Used Yoast SEO for page meta descriptions and generating sitemap… submitted to google webmaster.

When i do a search in google for ‘Donnybrook Hall Guesthouse’ I get the homepage (after the ads) but in the meta description I get ‘Index of /. 20140611_martinpenrose_53ce771837b1f3135140722143712_archive.zip · index.htm.bak · installer.php.’ (the duplicator files from what i can gather?)

Can’t figure out why..? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hey @penrosedigital,

Once your done with an install process you should always immediately delete the installer.php and archive files, its labeled number 4 “File Cleanup” in the last step of the installer under the title “Important Final Steps”.

You are also prompted to delete all these files in the wp-admin after you have installed a site. If you leave these files around during a google crawl then it will index the files, unless you setup a robots.txt to exclude the files….

    Cheers~

    Hey Cory,

    Much appreciated!!

I have used the plugin many times and usually follow protocol including file cleanup. Glad to know whats causing the problem now. Many thanks for your help and support. Great Plugin

    Cheers

No Problem… Don’t forget you can remove the crawler results from webmasters tools so they will disappear off of Googles results…
