    Hi Cory,

I use the Duplicator plugin on a dozen sites and several different servers. Mostly, without any problems.

I now have an very restrictive shared web hosting (max execution time: 30 seconds, upload size restriction: 128MB). This can not be changed. My site has about 300 MB and it exceeds all limits. Still, I managed to overcome this:

    1. Export (filter “wp-content” exclude)
    2. Manually delete and re-open the database.
    3. Upload manually “wp-content”, installer and package.
    4. Run as usual. Done.

This requires a little more time but it is effective. I’m interested in the following:

    1. Is there something I can use in this case? Something else to make it easier?

    2. Do you advise deactivating all plugins?

    2. Is there a possibility that Duplicator works in all circumstances? For me, Duplicator is still number one. On a competitive plugin say:

“The plugin exports and imports data in time chunks of 3 seconds each, which keeps the plugin below the max execution time that most providers set to 30 seconds.”

It would be great if Duplicator can work in this way, too. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

  • Hey vipteam,

For the free version the steps your taking are the fastest and probably the best approach. If the host has mysqldump that can help if the database is a decent size.

The pro version has Multi-Threaded support and other system level requests such as shell_exec that help with larger packages because its designed to be more than just a migration tool like the free version.

    Thanks~
