    Hi,
I’m trying out Duplicator to clone a blog. I’ve made a package and downloaded it, it appears to be a valid zip file. But I can’t find the install.php file anywhere. I’m assuming it should be downloaded into the the same folder as the package.zip? It’s not visible there or in the snapshots folder on the server.

    Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks!

Great! I’ll try it again next time I have a site to move or copy.

I am totally frustrated with the duplicator so if you can help me Ill give koooodos. I downloaded the installer and package. I uploaded it to my site on my virtual server (Apache) running Plesk under my domain at https://www.solarwyoming.com/wp-content/installer.php (the package zip file is here too).

So I opened my WordPress site and got to the Duplicator page to “install”. Now the Database Host url field says “localhost”. What goes here cause all I get is errors for everything Ive tried such as https://www.solarwyoming.com/wp-content/, or my root of the site https://www.solarwyoming.com/

Please be thorough, Im at my breaking point. The Installer fails for “The field database name is required!”

Hey – sorry I cant help – I’ve not used Duplicator since this thread – and have forgotten what I did…

I now use InfinteWP to manage and clone my sites. I paid for it – but it makes managing all my sites from one interface possible – and it works [most of the time…]

    Hi Flsk8,

You will have to check with your Plesk documentation or the hosting company managing your server. Most of the time it’s localhost however it can vary amount system.

Be sure you have already create the MySQL database and database user. And be sure that your database user has access to the database.

Checkout Paals video it does show this setup:

    Cheers!
