    Hi,

    I have watched every tutorial and read every forum/FAQ page there is. I haven’t seen anyone else with my issue.

    Originally I was having problems with permission folder, after reading the help section I changed my permissions and I no longer receive the error message about permissions. When I changed certain folder’s permissions it did change to a 500 error page but that is now sorted (I think).

    Now my Duplicator stays on step 1. The install log states:

    ZIP CLOSE: true
    UPDATED SCRIPTS:
    sql file: ‘/home…..’ [I removed my full address for security]
    wp-config: ‘/home….’

    SECTION RUNTIME: 458.0079 sec.

    I created a new package, deleted and re-uploaded all files. I even removed my add-on domain and created it again.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated. With all the positive reviews and smooth demonstration videos, I am struggling to see why my error is occurring.

    Thank you,
    Ollie

  • Hey Ollie,

    Thanks for the feedback! If you can give the developer version (0.5.0) a try it may have your fixes for the issue your seeing. The very latest version can be found by following these instructions:

    -> Browse to https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
    -> Look for the section “Other Versions”
    -> Click on “Development Version” and download the zip plugin file
    -> Uninstall your current version and install this one
    -> Note: This is a development line version so please test in your sandbox first to make sure you have no issues…

    Be sure to enable mysqldump from the settings page if your server has the ability. Also you might try the manual extraction option if your having issues with the extraction process taking too long…

    Let me know if this solves your issue…

    Thanks

    Thank you for the response.

    I downloaded the new version and tried to upload the plugin. For whatever reason it would not upload. I tried it on two sites (on the same server) but had no joy.

    I did a manual extraction in the file manager. This seemed to work until I tried to logon by https://www.myurl.com/wp-admin. It redirected me to my old site.

    I have tried your suggestions from your FAQ and none seem to be work.

    I am using the Thesis Framework from DIY Themes. Could this be an issue? I find it very bizarre i’m having these problems yet many others do not.

    Regards,
    Ollie

    Update: I finally got the new version of Duplicator uploaded on to my site. I created a new package and downloaded a new installer.

    I upload the package and the installer to my new site. I still cannot progress to step 2, although I am receiving new information in my installation log.

    This is the log:

    ZipArchive Object
    (
    [status] => 0
    [statusSys] => 0
    [numFiles] => 0
    [filename] =>
    [comment] =>
    )
    COMPLETE: true

    WEB SERVER CONFIGURATION FILE RESET:
    – Backup of .htaccess/web.config made to .orig
    – Reset of .htaccess/web.config files

    UPDATED FILES:
    – SQL FILE: ‘/home…. [removed full address]
    – WP-CONFIG: ‘/home…. [removed full address]

    ARCHIVE RUNTIME: 428.4959 sec.

    Does this clear things up? If I visit my new domain I am taken to a WordPress installation screen.

    Mant thanks,
    Ollie

    Did you happen to try the mysqldump option? You can enable it by going to the settings menu. Also I just did another push to the development line if you want to grab that version it has a few updates…

    Cheers~

    The diagnostic screen on the settings option states:
    msyqldump Path Path Not Found

    Could this be the issue?

    That means your server doesn’t support the option. You might also open the Advanced options in step1 and check the Manual Extraction mode. This requires you to extract the archive file on the server ahead of time…

    Thank you for your help. With the correct permissions and a manual extraction I was able to successfully migrate my site. I am using NameCheap if anyone in the future has the same problem.

    I will be donating shortly – you have saved me a lot of work.

    Regards,
    Ollie

    Thanks for the update!
