We have been wrestling with Duplicator installs on a new hosting provider. As far as we know the plan should be comparable to the old host. But they are saying it demands more resources than the plan provides. However now the install attempts time out every single time. Our memory limit was increased to 2 gigs this last time and it still wasn’t enough. The hosting provider still had to go in themselves, extract and install the database manually.

Is duplicator now demanding more resources to run? This has happened on several migrations for us now. We’ve never had this problem before. Creating the package was occasionally a problem, but never ever have we had an issue with the installer itself.

  • Hey @starhorsepax2,

Is it possible that your running into a long-running process timeout vs an actual memory issue or has your host actually pinned the PHP process using the memory on Duplicator?

We have not added any logic that would require more resources. In fact, we have typically tried to add code that enhances performance. I haven’t ever seen an instance where the plugin would require that much memory.

If you would like to submit a support ticket for this issue we can have a closer look at your setup. Please provide a link to this forum thread when submitting the ticket if you decide to go that route.

    Thanks~
