    Hi,

    wonderful plugin.

I’ve made a duplication from my local website to a dedicated server.

    Everything is ok, except :

all the link I use to put in my composer (Visual Composer from WP bakery) component are still the same, I mean they still target my local network.
May be because the links are stored in raw format ?

I’ve read the faq and some post dealing the subject but didn’t find my answer.

Sorry for my bad english writing.

    Thanks for your response.

    Hey Teny,

If the values where stored in the database it should have updated them. Do you know if they were from the DB and if so, do you happen to know the format (string, xml, json, php serialized data). If your not sure the plugin author should know…

    Thanks

    Hello Cory,

    thanks for the reply.

Not all url, but some of them are stored in “serialized” format in wp_posts table db :
    https://www.example.com/folder/ is stored as http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Ffolder%2F

These url are NOT changed when the duplicator process is finished.

Don’t know if you are familiar with VC plugin (Visual Composer), but this happen when url are stored as parameters shortcode.
    for example :
    [vc_row][vc_column][my_vc_custom_component myurlparam="http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Ffolder%2F"] ... [/vc_column][/vc_row]
Now I use another plugin (better search a replace) to change all problematic url.

But, once again, I would like to tell you your plugin is very helpful and I will have bought the pro version for sure if this url problem was not there.

    Hope my answer will help.
    Thanks again for the reply.

    Hey Teny,

I see the urls are all URL encoded. Could you go ahead and submit a ticket here and refer to this thread, I may have a solution.

    Thanks

    Update to ticket:

We had to use the Pro version to implement the search/replace logic built into the installer. We have added a todo for trying to detect the url encoded part of http%3A%2F%2 inside the DB. No timeline as to when it will make free, but it is on the todo list…

Just to let you know, I use your program a tonne and AM a pro user. I also have the same issue.

If you know of any smart work arounds till your fix comes out, I’d be interested?

    Hey Shutupandshave,

If you have Pro, in step 2 you can add additional search and replace items. Just add:

    Search: http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Ffolder%2F
    Replace: https://www.example/folder

Or the exact combination you have…

    Thxs
