Dynamic author links for sidebar from current posts

I’m new to wordpress. What I would like to do is generate a link list in sidebar that shows the last ten post authors in order from newest to oldest. Even better would be if I could generate links to the 10 most prolific authors. The goal being to encourage posting with exposure.
