Dynamic Loading Table

    Hi,

    I have created a table at the above URL that includes some nice filtering. What another client has asked me is if I can do the same again, but instead of filtering the complete table, the table is hidden, then loads dynamically after the filters have been set. In other words I guess that I would be building the shortcode, then loading it.

    Although I’m not great with AJAX, I guess that I should be able to muddle my way through, but is there an ability in the datatables system that you are aware of that might do that for me? It seems a shame to have to create a form to create a shortcode to load, then have trouble revising, where the datatables systems seems like it should be able to do that.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    I see what you mean, but unfortunately, I’m not aware of an existing solution for this using the ColumnFilterWidgets dropdowns.
    (There is an approach for this with the normal search field, see https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/start-with-search-bar-only/ )

    You’d need to modify the ColumnFilterWidgets JS here, is my guess. Unfortunately, as I’m not the developer of that code (I only packaged it as a TablePress Extension), I don’t know what modifications are necessary.
    This solution is pure frontend JS code though, so no AJAX is necessary.
