    Hi,

I apologise if I am missing the point of this plug-in. Not a programmer.

I want to be able to tell people who leave comments on my site that I have done everything I can to prevent their e-mail addresses being harvested.

I installed your plugin and activated it, then opened my back-end Comments page (https://…/wp-admin/edit-comments.php).

Using Firefox, I used “View Page Source” to look at the page in plain text. (“View Source” is not an option.) The e-mail addresses are unencrypted.

Am I looking at the page the wrong way?

Or does the plug-in not encrypt e-mail addresses in the back-end? And if not, do you have any advice for me about what I can do to protect these addresses?

    Many thanks,
    John

Is there anyone who has access to your backend and might harvest email addresses?

    Hi Till,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.

So, maybe I was missing the point. I understand from your question that e-mail addresses in the back-end are protected from bots by virtue of being in the back-end. I couldn’t find this info anywhere I looked, so I appreciate learning it.

But that means your plug in is only intended for e-mail addresses in the front of the website, which is something I don’t need.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I’ll mark this as resolved.

    John
