    Hello,
    Thanks for you great plugin.

I noticed since using 4.0.1, my mails get send only at 02:00 at night. Before, a visitor who bought something got a mail right away. I checked the settings, and the new Send emails asynchronously is off. What can be the cause of this? I am using the free plan of Brevo, and sent less than 10 mails a day.

  • Hi @denny_p,

Thank you for contacting us, and I’m so sorry about the inconvenience.

If I understand correctly, since updating to WP Mail SMTP version 4.0.1, your emails are being sent only at 02:00 at night instead of immediately after a visitor makes a purchase. If this is the case, here are a few things we can check to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Send Emails Asynchronously Setting: You mentioned that this setting is turned off. However, sometimes toggling this setting (turning it on, saving, and then turning it off again) can reset any internal configurations that might be causing the delay.
    2. Scheduled Emails in Brevo: Since you are using the free plan of Brevo, please ensure that there are no scheduled send times set up within your Brevo account that might be causing this delay. Check your Brevo account settings to make sure that emails are not queued to be sent at specific times.
    3. WordPress Cron Jobs: Email sending delays can sometimes be caused by issues with WordPress cron jobs. Make sure that the WordPress cron system on your site is functioning correctly. You can check this with a plugin like WP Crontrol to see if there are any pending or delayed cron jobs.
    4. Plugin Conflicts: It’s also possible that other plugins might be interfering with email sending. Try temporarily deactivating other plugins to see if the issue persists. If the emails are sent immediately after deactivating other plugins, you can re-enable them one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please let me know, and we can investigate further. Additionally, if you could provide any recent changes or updates made to your website, that might help in identifying the cause.

I hope this helps. Thanks ??
