e-mail not valid in comments

I want my readers to leave name and e-mail in comments. But the lines seem to be messed up. The middle line (name) doesn’t work at all. And no matter what e-mail adress my readers try to use, wordpress/theme says it’s not valid. So i went to my CP and removed the “Need to leave name and e-mail”, and now everybody ends up being anonymous when they write name in the middel line (line for name). I changed mye theme to default and it worked fine. How do I fix this so I can continue using the pretty green apples theme? ??
