    Good day,

    I have to update my Woocommerce database, but as soon as I press the button, an error message appears:

    There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    I have uninstalled Woocommerce and installed it again, but the error keeps showing, and I cannot update de database

    This is the error message.

    To check better, please provide the following:

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

    Can you please check the logs, and let us know if there are any other errors that start with wc_db_updates? Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if any other errors are present).

    Hi @haykap,

    Thank you for the system status and error logs.

    Let’s see if you’re able to update the WC database after disabling all plugins (except WooCommerce) and temporarily switching to a default theme like Storefront.

    You can install a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    Let us know how it goes.

    I installed the suggested plugin, and run the troubleshooting, activated the Woocommerce to update the database, but I get the same error.

    “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

    All other plugins were disabled.

    Any other ideas that could help? Thank you :).

    Hi there,

    Looking a bit closer at the error logs you shared it seems that the database table wimperu1_wrdp1.wp_actionscheduler_actions was not able to be created. Most often this happens when the “database user” that WordPress is utilizing doesn’t have permission to create the table.

    You can check the permissions this database user has in the web host’s control panel. Make sure this user can create tables. Then you can temporarily disable WooCommerce and activate it again. That will trigger the creation of any missing table. If you’re still in trouble however we recommend getting in contact with your host’s support and asking them to take a look.

    Thank you so much for your help, the only thing that got rid of the error was to run the tool “Verify base database tables”. It showed that tables were complete and without error, somehow this checking fixed something because the database could finally get updated and everything works fine now.
