Easier way to quickly edit posts – (in table-like format?)

  • Is there a plugin (or do I need to create one) that will allow users to edit posts in a table or spread-sheet like format?

    The quick-edit function is nice, but incomplete. What I imagine is a list of 10 or 20 posts — perhaps filterable by a search — with one row per post, and one column for Date, Title, Post, Categories, Custom-meta-1, custom-meta-2, etc.

    The user can scream through the posts making tweaks and updates where needed, click a button, and all of them are saved as once.

    This would be great for CMS applications where perhaps a custom-post-type is a listing of products, and one needs to update several descriptions, prices, or notes at once…

    Seems like it would be “simple” enough to implement, but I haven’t found anything yet…
