• I need some advice or how to.
I built a game site for a client, they now want the same site functions, users, pages etc for another game site. It sounds pretty easy but after reading several pages I’m at a loss.
I did try the quick method of using WP CLone but the pages/menu give errors when clicked on the new site.
Any idea as to the a simple method. A fresh install and import users?content?
Moving plugins as well? fresh uploads and set up?
The real priority is the users/members. At least this is what I am thinking.

It is on the same server, but different domain and it’s own account. No subdomain.
Any ideas on this process is greatly appreciated.

  • Use a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-migrate-db/ to export and migrate the database of the old site to your new site. Make sure to fill in the correct information so that WP Migrate DB can find and replace your old domain info with the new domain info you’re migrating to.

    Cleanest way is to just:
    1. download all the files via FTP
    2. export SQL database
    3. upload files to new destination through FTP and
    4. import the SQL database.
    5. Make sure to edit the SQL config table to new URL

That way you got your pages, plugins, menus etc etc.
