• Hey guys,

I am having a LOT of trouble uploading about 65 images. I took about 65 pictures of an Iron Maiden concert last night, all in the highest resolution my camera can handle (8.1 MP) and I am trying to get them on my blog.

With the current system wordpress has, I was able, even though it took a lot of clicking, to upload multiple pictures at a time but after about 20 min, the upload window went white and looked like a time out.. so, back to square 1.

I don’t want to upload one at a time. I want to get all these pictures on there at a single time and add them as thumbnails in the same post easily.

Is there a way to do this?

Okay, so I uploaded the images to the same directory as all my other images that WordPress uploaded to in the past for other entries.. but the new images don’t show up in the Media Gallery, or whatever. The only difference I see is no thumbnail file for these pictures. Am I really going to have to do these uploads one by one?

    try uploading via ftp.

Right, I do try that dig1618. However, when uploading it to the same directory that WP puts pictures in when I upload through WP, WordPress doesn’t recognize the files in there for some reason…

This is most likely a PHP limitation, not WordPress one.
The following php.ini directives could all have something to do with it: upload_max_filesize, post_max_size, max_input_time, and memory_limit

For the most part, you are at the will of your host as far as these are concerned.

Technobable aside, my advice is: Try uploading the images (through wordpress) one or two, maybe more, at a time.

I know, that sucks. But, because you want to upload 8MP images, which can be big (3-7MB depending on compression, quality, etc), you MAY be stuck with that.

Well that’s no fun =P Guess I gotta do it slowly, or I suppose I can just resize them all and make the process go a little quicker.

    Thanks Jason.
