• There have been lots of questions about getting static text on the homepage. Maybe I missed it, but the easiest way is to just put the html in the index.php file. I’m working on it for my site, https://www.softerware.net/blog.
    This is all done with css.
    If anyone wants more details, let me know!

    Speaking of the easiest weay, I would either risk using WP 1.3 Alpha or install one of the WP 1.2.x plugins that make static pages possible.

    Well, I may have spoken too soon.
    When you click on the storytitle to read the entire entry, the page layout stays the same and the entry displays in the left column only. Not pretty.
    BUT, this is where ElasticDog’s category hack will work, I think.
    I’ll try it and let you know…
