I’m using 4.0 and it won’t work at all. I gave up.

I just spent 2.5 hours with godaddy trying to figure out why i can not login to my wordpress admin (AGAIN!), only to find out there’s a problem with the theme I chose. They said I need to update my theme. Fine. How do I do that? Go online, google it. Ok, done. Google tells me to “look for the “update” button which appears anytime there’s an update!” Ok, no problem google, I’m on it, thanks! Hmm.. go to my .php admin since i can’t get into my regular admin. Well, isn’t this fishy.. there’s no “update button”. Ok, start again, only to land here. Anyone have ANY idea WTF I’m supposed to do?

For those that are having issues with WordPress 4.0 and this plugin, I’m unable to recreate this issue. I’ll need to get additional information in order to find out what may be happening. Please give me as many details as you can. For example:

    * Are you seeing the drop-down that the plugin adds to the installation page to select “Yes” in order to perform the upgrade?
    * Are any warning messages about the update not being able to be applied showing?

As for your issue fvokovan, the easiest thing to do is to use FTP to rename the theme’s directory. This will force WordPress to use the default theme so that you can access the site normally. From there, update the theme however you like.

Hi Chris, I have to apologize because I thought this was a general forum for wordpress issues, not your app specifically. Sorry for the confusion, I’m a newb. I actually need help with a cyberchimps theme, but I believe it to no longer be supported.. my bad luck.

I just tried the plugin for the first time, using WordPress 4.0, and I found it didn’t work. I’m not sure if my problem is the same as the others’, but here’s what I experienced:

The plugin displayed the option to upgrade, but it was unable to delete the existing theme folder. It did delete all of the files in the theme, but my theme has a few extra directories, and those were not deleted.

Without having completely dug into the plugin code, it looks to me like the problem is in modify-installer.php, where $wp_filesystem->delete() is called. It seems to me that these non-standard subdirectories within the theme are the source of the problem; this method is failing to delete the theme directory because it’s not empty, due to those subdirectories.

I just tried with 4.0.1 multisite and like others here got this message:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists. /home/site/public_html/wp-content/themes/blablabla/

    Theme install failed

There were no error messages other than that.

Never mind I just found your post from another thread ??
