Easy to use but far too expensive

WPForms are easy to use, but very limited in their basic version. Even with a Plus subscription one doesn’t get such standard features as a function to prevent duplicate entries. It is preposterous that one should spend the likes of 400 dollars every year, just to have a working form on a couple of websites. I regret having renewed and upgraded my subscription before having shopped for a better deal.

We’re sorry to hear that the Plus license doesn’t seem to fit your needs completely for now. Our team has worked hard to make sure that customers get good value from each of the license levels.
The Form Locker addon has the feature to require unique field input, which can help prevent duplicate entries. The Form Locker addon also includes other advanced features such as the option to schedule form access, restrict form to logged-in users, limit form entries and require password access. As such, it requires the Pro license level or higher.
In case it helps to share if you’re considering a license upgrade, all upgrades are pro-rated so that 1) you only pay the difference between the two licenses and 2) you only pay for the time left in your subscription. In addition, currently we offer a 50% discount off license upgrade costs, and this is automatically applied at checkout. You can find more details on how this works in this tutorial.
If you’d prefer not to upgrade at this time, some possible workarounds could be to send out form notifications to let users know that their submission has been received, or redirect users to a confirmation page so they do not accidentally resubmit their form when they refresh the browser after submission.
