Easy way to swap primary site?

  • I am using the latest version of WordPress with multisite enabled. I currently have Site A as my primary (root) network site (i.e. mydomain.com) and Site B as a secondary site (i.e. mydomain.com/siteb). Is there a easy way to swap these sites? I.e. make Site B the primary and Site A a secondary/network site?

    I have looked throughout the forum and the Network Admin options, however have not been able to figure out an easy way to accomplish this.

  • No, there’s not an easy way to swap them.

    The simplest way you co do it, is to export the posts from both, delete the content, then reimport to the other blog.

    I was about to say you can do it by changing the primary site ID in the wp-config, except I remember when I did it, and unraveling the whole thing was a nightmare and … Not easy at all.
