When I try to verify my product on eBay, I get the error “EBAT_SEVERITY_ERROR: (#80001)
    curl_error 35 error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure”

I did not get this error last week. Any ideas what has happened?

    Hey @bathrick

    Thanks for contacting support.

I am sorry, but only your hosting company can sort out these types of problems causing cURL not to connect properly. Your hosting company’s server administrator should be able to resolve the permission problems preventing cURL from working. They’ve probably got overly limiting restrictions configured on the server, preventing it from being able to do the communication required for listing items on eBay.

… and if your hosting company cannot help or is not willing to help, you’d likely need to switch to a proper host.

In that past only some users have received these types of cURL erors, and every time it was due to an issue on the server/hosting end.

    Kind regards,
    John

Perhaps you should reconsider rephrasing that. Unless, of course, you prefer folks who are loyal to their hosts to decide to find another program to use.

    Hey @bathrick.

    Thank you for the feedback.

I don’t mean any disrespect to the host or to you. It is simply a case where we have seen these types of issues in the past, and they were always caused by the host/server configuration.

If your host were to tell you it isn’t their problem or “there is nothing wrong”, it would be a sign that either the host doesn’t care to correct the problem, has poor support, or simply has their server’s configured poorly.

Again, my intentions are not to push customers away, or show disrespect, but rather illustrate the situation as a hosting issue.

If you are loyal to your host and the issue comes from the host, then yes, you’d have to try to find another solution that works with your hosting/server.

    Kind regards,
    John
