• Hi,
I ve just installed the EC and activated it, yet no published posts were dragged into it nor am I able to save any posts in the calendar for future publishing.

Whatever I save in the Unscheduled Drafts does not appear in the Calendar and if I try and save a post in the calendar it will save it in the regular Posts column but not show it in the calendar

I don’t have many other active plugins and there are no error messages.

Could you please advise on what to do?

    Thanks
    MIhaela

    Hello Mlhaela,

Thank you for trying out the Editorial Calendar. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it. I’m having a little trouble following what you’ve tried.

Does the calendar show any errors when it’s loaded? Are there in errors in the JavaScript console of your browser? Is the issue that the calendar shows up, but there aren’t any posts in it?

    Thanks,
    Zack

Hi and thanks for the prompt reply!

Yes the issue is that the calendar shows up but none of the posts are loaded in and I can save no new posts in it. I can enter Unscheduled Posts in the right column but I cannot drag and drop them into the calendar.

There are no apparent errors, but I am not a very technical person and my tech guys are on holiday:( I am using WordPress version 3.3.2 for my blog.

    Thanks for your support!

    Hi Mihaela,

Sorry for misspelling your name before. The i looked like an l.

It sounds like you’re having an error in the calendar which isn’t being reported properly. Is there any chance I could log into your blog and take a look? You could create a new user for me who is just an editor and send the information to [email protected].

    Thanks,
    Zack

    Hi Zack
i did just that – feel free to have a look but please don’t activate or deactivate anything before you let me know – i wouldn’t want for something else to go bust:)
I will send the details via email in a few minutes.
Thanks a looking forward to your answer

    Hi Mihaela,

I logged in and created two new test posts. I can see the problem.

There’s a WordPress function called the_time. We call that function to get the date of each post. For some reason that function isn’t working on your WordPress. I don’t know why and I’ve never seen this issue.

I would take a look at your WordPress theme. Some themes override functions like this. I would also check your version of WordPress and version of PHP.

You might also want to update to WordPress 3.4.2. You’re a little behind with version 3.3.2.

    Thanks,
    Zack

I have a similar issue. I ran a quick search through my theme’s files, and none of them alter the_time(). please advise.

    Hi,

Are you sure the issue is with the_time? Mihaela’s blog is the only place where I’ve seen that issue. I’m still not sure what’s causing it. the_time should be a standard call.

I would check other plugins and themes. Does the problem still happen with your other plugins disabled?

    Thanks,
    Zack

Calendar seems to be conflicting with another plugin called “Hebrew Date” https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/hebrewdates/

I’m glad you found the plugin causing the conflict. Did you find any more details about what was causing the problem? See any error messages?

    Thanks,
    Zack
