    Hi all,

I have been playing with different plugins but cannot find a shopping cart option to fit this:

1 product available, with 20 or so accessories that can be added. Looking to have the product listed on the page and the customer can just click a checkbox for each accessory they want to add. Then at the bottom, click add to cart.

Anyone know if they make a plugin like this? eShop is so close but not quite there!

  • Can I ask where eShop fell short?

    Sure!

As I see it, eShop does allow the user to put multiple products on one page using short code. What I found it doesn’t allow is you to select those products (by using a checkbox or something) and have one “add to cart” button once you’ve selected the products you want.

Now, it is still new to me, so maybe I’ve missed the short code that allows you to do this. But after many searches, it seems others are having this issue as well.

Um – that’s quite a old support topic that you’re referencing. Have you looked at using Option Sets within eShop. I’ve seen (and worked) on eShop sites with 20 or more extra selectable options per product via Option Sets.

Just checked through the eShop documentation with a view to pointing you to some useful info and realised that we’ve got faff all on Option Sets in there! So that just got added to my ToDo list. It will take me a few days to put something together but in the meantime, feel free to post on the eShop support forum if you need help.

Sorry, what is “faff all on Option Sets”?

I used the Option Set for the product, liked it but just not enough “options” available; can only put 5 options. But maybe that is what you meant above?

what is “faff all on Option Sets”?

*LOL* sorry – UK English slang for “absolutely and utterly nothing”.

But maybe that is what you meant above?

I think you’re confusing “options” (which are part of the main product entry pane of each post/page) with “Option sets” which are initially set up via eShop -> Option Sets. You can have as many of these sets as you want and they are all completely customisable. Once created, they are added to the product by simply ticking with set(s) you want in a new area that appears in the product entry area of each page/post.

For example, I did some CSS work a while back on a site that was selling custom-made spa tubs. They had well over a dozen different option sets that allowed the customer to chose the size, color, shape, covering etc etc of their custom tub.

Haha, awesome. Thanks for clearing it up.

I was ticking my “Option Set” in my page, but when I set up my first “Option Set” via eShop -> Option Sets; I only had 5 spaces. BUT I just went back in there and found it now has 10. So I added 5 more, pushed “Update” and it made 15 spaces! So problem solved! If you didn’t tell me the spa story, I wouldn’t have went back in!

You are great help! I really enjoy eShop so I’m glad to continue working with it.
