Ecommerce website?

Hey,
I am new to the WordPress community and wanted to start a website in which I could sell stuff (ecommerce). I have a jewlery store and I would like to take the buisness online, how ever I am not sure where to start.

I know there are tons of ecommerce templates out there for wordpress, but I need to know how does it all work?

Do I just put a picture of what I am selling, and they buy it? I do have a pay pal account, (The regular personal one, would I need to upgrade to buisness and stuff)

I also won’t have a factory shipping it, instead I will probably ship it but then I need to know how, and what I will need to do.
