I use the provided by EDD solution to integrate EDD with PayPal (Standard Business Account).

I tried to follow the documentation on the developer website:
    https://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/918-paypal-legacy

but it looks outdated. PayPal dashboard looks much different now and provides different options.

Anyway I’ve created REST API app. The app provides: PayPal account (e-mail), Client ID and Secret. I’ve been trying to paste the ID and Secret as PayPal Identity Token, but still the message appears “Please connect your PayPal account in the gateway settings.”

I’m confused. Can you please describe, how to connect PayPal, please? I believe, it can’t be too complicated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @adamkam2020

In the payment gateways list have you enabled the PayPal standard option since you are going to use the older version?

    Hi @misulicus

The issue seems to be solved, thank you. (I had enabled only PayPal)

By the way a banner has appeared “Enable the new PayPal gateway for Easy Digital Downloads” once I enabled PayPal standard.
Is it something I should do?

    Regards, Adam

    Hi @adamkam2020,
If you have enabled and configured PayPal under Downloads > Settings > Payment Gateways there isn’t anything more you need to do to accept payments via PayPal.

With EDD version 2.11 we made updates that introduce the new PayPal Commerce gateway. A Pro version of PayPal Commerce is also available that allows customers to pay via credit or debit card directly on your site.

If you’d like to read the corresponding documentation it can be found here.
