This is weird. I’m writing a post and suddenly I see two instances of this code inside my post under the text that I’m writing (text tab). It doesn’t show up in the visual tab or on the website, but it is defenitely saved within the post.

Any idea where this comes from?

    <span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 0.85; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer; top: 44px; left: 837px;">Bewaren</span>

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Hi!

We are getting this too! We thought at first it might be a hack code of some sort. We have had it appear on multiple websites now that are not related to each other at all – so different themes, plugins, etc. It shows up randomly after you “save” a post. Here is what we got today too:

    <span style=”border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px ‘Helvetica Neue’,Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;”>Save</span>

It happened on a site in the regular wsywig and it happened on another site in Visual Composer.

I haven’t found the cause yet, but abramarket is right. I too encountered it now on another site as well. I’m busy figuring out which plugin…

Esmi is that a serious response?? This is “Forum” correct?

    @abramarket: Completely serious.

These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

Jack: Please post a link to the site in question. It would be interesting to see if it looks hacked.

At the moment it happens on these two sites:

I don’t see any evidence, looking exteranlly, of a hack, so I fall back to the “first” methodology:

First, please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles. If not, that’s another kettle of fish.

Twenty Fifteen enabled and all plugins deactivated the code still pops up. I only have to switch from text to visual and back to text, and there it is again.

Any new ideas are welcome. In the meantime I’m going to clean up the database etc.

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folders before uploading the new ones.

I did this, all fresh WP files, still using Twenty Fifteen and all plugins disabled, and with a cleanup of the database. But I still get that code. Very weird.

Try resetting the plugins folder using phpMyAdmin. I’ve known some especially vampiric plugins cause problems until the plugins folder is reset by Phpmyadmin.

    No luck yet.

I made a quick video to show what happens:

I cleaned up the database, optimized etc. and deleted some remaining tables. This is all that is left: https://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1466177650.jpg

I also changed PHP from version 5.6.9 to 7, but that also didn’t help. I did however change PHP versions a couple of times in the last few weeks to test plugins, but that couldn’t be it, could it?
