Edit Carousel text

I have seen topics on this before, but haven’t quite found an answer; how can I edit the text that is shown in the carousel? And is there a way to change this text without going into the codex? At this moment the first few lines of each connected page are being shown in the carousel. See https://www.samendansennederland.nl to get an idea. I would love to hear from you, thanks in advance!
