This is a follow up to the “resolved” issue mentioned in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/edit-cart-item-function/ .

I am honestly surprised a year later this still isn’t a feature in WooCommerce. Or how it’s survived this many years without the ability to edit an item from the shopping cart like any other shopping cart system. @gerdski is right, this is a huge oversight that no one seems to care about.

While @gerdski did mention a possible solution (with no details), would someone at WooCommerce offer a better path on how to accomplish this? This should have been built into WooCommerce from the beginnning.

    Hello there,
We do not have currently plans to introduce this feature in WooCommerce. If you want, as recommended in the previous post, you can add this to our ideas board to start gauging interest.

The ideas board is regularly used by our developers to scout for new ideas and implementations based on customer interest.

You can add your idea here: https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce

I am very sorry, but this is so long ago that I have forgotten how I made it ??
But it’s not so hard: You create an edit-item-button, and on click you reach the single-product-page for this product.
Now you must count the amount of this product in the cart and get possible variations and other info, then delete it from the cart.
In the amount box of the single-product-view you must write the amount that you found out before, also the variations and other info.

Hopefully, you were able to find a solution to your problem! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.

    Cheers! ??
