I see the option to edit the emails that get sent to affiliates after registration, account approval, etc. But these are not the emails that get sent. I found the text for the emails that are actually getting sent in the file affiliates-manager-en_US.po. How do I make the emails come from the ones listed on the “Messaging” tab in wordpress dashboard?

This was the email that got sent after approval:
“New affiliate registration for Oxycise!: has been approved!

Log into the site with your existing account and get started.”

But on the messaging tab it says that the email after approval is this one:
“Your affiliate account for {blogname} has been approved!. Username: {affusername} Password: {affpassword} Login URL: {affloginurl} Please log into your account to get referral code.”

    Thank you!

    Hi,

“New affiliate registration for Oxycise!: has been approved!

Log into the site with your existing account and get started.”

I think the above e-mail message is coming from the following entry affiliate_application_approved_email. Have you by any chance modified the message?

Below is the default message sent by our plugin.

Your affiliate account for {blogname} has been approved!. Username: {affusername} Password: {affpassword} Login URL: {affloginurl} Please log into your account to get referral code.

If the above is not correct, then I suspect that another plugin might be interfering with our plugin messaging system.

Let me know if the above makes sense to you.

    Kind regards

Thank you for your response! I did not modify anything. Do you have a suggestion for how to find what plugin might be causing that? Or to force it to use the emails it’s supposed to be using?

Thank you for your response. Is there any way to get it to use those default messages shown in the plugin settings without editing files? I could maybe eventually figure it out, but I don’t know how to add links to those language files for the affiliates to be able to just click to go to the log in page.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Is there any way to get it to use those default messages shown in the plugin settings without editing files?

Unfortunately at present this is the only method to edit those strings. The default messages in the settings are different to the string you want to edit.

    Kind regards

Ok thank you. What are those default messages in settings used for?

Hi, please read what it says under Use field. Every message has an explanation.

Right, so I’m sorry I’m still confused, why is the message under settings not being used as the approval email? affiliate_application_approved_email description says it’s sent to a newly registered affiliate immediately following their application being approved – but when an affiliate is approved, it’s sending the text from affiliates-manager-en_US.po

@mari125, It’s because that message is only used when you already have a WordPress user account on the site. In most cases, visitors without an account sign up for the affiliate program.

    Hi, as per affmngr reply.

    Thank you

As a follow on to this, I am having the same issue.

I have followed the advice above, i have changed the text in affiliates-manager-en_US.po and affiliates-manager-en_US.mo and it’s still triggering the same email:

“New affiliate registration for The Spiritual Warehouse: has been approved!

Log into the site with your existing account and get started.”

How can they log in with no details, we need to give them their details to login? If we know that most people who sign up are not already members of the WordPress site, why is it set up in this way? Makes it very hard for people to customise the message for new sign-ups?

What should i do now, i have changed the text, uploaded it back to the server and still getting the old message?
