  • Hi Nancy51. If your front page is displaying your blog, the theme configures the layout using code and your Theme Options. If you have a static front page, you would edit it using the Pages editor. Does that make sense?

I am using Hueman so the page is not static nor can I find anyplace where I can add to the page. So….??

If your home page is set to show your blog, you just need to add Posts. They will be displayed automatically in a two-column layout. This can be changed to a single column. You can also set a single Featured Post which will show full-width at the top of the home page. Or you can set the Featured Posts to show in a slider at the same location. Those options are all in Theme Options > Blog. There is a link to the extensive theme documentation on the Theme Options page. Click the Help tab in the upper righthand corner and select the documentation link. Hope that helps. Late here; be back tomorrow.

No, I want the slider plus additional information.

This is a theme specific question and requires someone familiar with the theme to answer.

Here are a couple of alternatives. Maybe other members on the forum can offer different ideas.
    1. – Copy page.php to your child theme.
    – Rename the file and change the heading to create a new page template.
    – Add the code to the page template to generate the built-in Flexslider.
    – Create a page using the new page template.
    – Edit the page content as you normally would.
    2. Use a separate plugin like Meta Slider and add it to your page via a shortcode.
    3. Use a different theme.
